Cawthorne Team - Inpatients Unit, Danetre Hospital Daventry
Cawthorne team has 6 palliative care- beds all located in single rooms with en-suites. We offer a very high standard of care, promoting and providing skilled palliative care in a compassionate manner.
Our vision here on Cawthorne is to help people to live well until they die. Our facilities cater for all people who are approaching their end of life and those who are close to them. We have two family rooms for people to use for overnight stays, and we have a restaurant on site.
We are a nurse led unit overseen by local GP’s. In addition to our highly trained, dedicated and well motivated nurses and health care assistants we are supported on site by Macmillan Nurses, Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists. A weekly visit from one of the Consultants in palliative care based at Cynthia Spencer Hospice is provided to offer specialist support and expertise.
Our patients have life limiting illnesses such as cancer, motor neurone disease and end stage heart and renal failure, many of our patients come on to the unit to have their symptoms assessed and controlled.
Our aim here on Cawthorne is to make patients and their families feel comfortable and to welcome them in to our friendly atmosphere.
