Wednesday 15th September 7.07am The lads have set off on the first stretch of their 169 mile journey. 9.11am Pete and Kev have had their first stop, 20 miles done. On Fosse Way now, both doing well just a little cold! 11.29am Just stopped to have lunch and a rest in Moreton-in-Marsh.The lads have found last 10miles hard, quite hilly and a strong head wind 13.43pm Last 10 miles has been steep hills, lads starting to feel it. Will be stopping for a break soon, messages of encouragment greatly appreciated ! 14.46pm Our cyclists have reached the Travel Lodge in Cirencester,63 miles completed ! Time for a bath, dinner and relaxing evening ready for the next part of the cycle tomorrow. Thursday 16th September 7.49am Pete and Kevin say good morning to you all and thanks for the support yesterday. They are about to mount their bikes, both a little sore but ready to go ! 8.49am 10 miles completed already! 9.14am First stop of the day, 5 miles north of Chippenham 9.40am The lads are off again, in high spirits! Hopefully not too many hills today. 10.34am Just passed Melksham, 30 miles done so far. 11.35am Just going through Westbury, spitting with rain. 40 miles done and half dozen of bananas ! Starting to get hilly. 11.53am Arrived at Travelodge Warminster for a break 12.30pm Bev, Adrian, Mia & Erin meet the lads to offer their support. 12.45pm A very nice couple in a silver car stopped to enquire about the Trust and generously made a donation, greatly appreciated ! 12.50pm The cyclists are back on the saddles ! 15.01pm Pete and Kevin have made it to Shaftsbury, both are well. Friday 17th September 9.00am Home stretch of the journey, Pete and Kevin are well. Good weather and looking forward to seeing everybody in Weymouth. 10.10am First stop of the journey, 15 miles done. 10.35am And they're off again ! 12.29pm 11 miles left to go, the lads have stopped for lunch - all is going well. 13.39pm The lads have just passed the sign for Weymouth, not long and they will reach the finishing line. 14.34pm Pete and Kevin have arrived and are met by the welcome commitee! Well done to both cyclists and Baz who has followed the lads in the support vehicle, the local press has been to take photo and have spoken to Radio Northampton. |
